Acxiom's Online Advertising Solution Privacy Policy
This privacy policy covers Acxiom’s Relevance Managed Media and Retargeting product line - an online
advertising network product suite enabling the delivery of the most relevant
offers to the right consumers while protecting their privacy and offering
consumers a choice about participating in such activities.
None of the
information provided to clients from Relevance Managed Media or Retargeting contain any
personally identifiable information about consumers.
Advertising to Consumers Based on a Previously Visited Website (often
referred to as Retargeting)
When you visit the website of an advertiser using Acxiom’s Retargeting product and view certain pages chosen by the advertiser on their
site, Acxiom sets an anonymous third-party cookie on your computer for use by
that advertiser. This cookie allows them to show you advertisements related to
the pages and/or products you previously viewed on their website when you visit
other websites that are part of the Acxiom Relevance Managed Media and Retargeting Ad Network.
These cookies will only be used to deliver relevant anonymous online
advertisements on websites in the Relevance Managed Media and Retargeting Ad Network. No history of websites
you have visited, other than the advertiser’s website, is associated with this
cookie. No personally identifiable information is collected by or used with
these cookies. The cookie is set to automatically expire within 90 days.
However, if you revisit the pages that initially launched the cookie, the 90-day
timeframe will restart.
Our contracts require that advertiser sites which use
this Retargeting feature provide disclosures in their privacy policies that
state that third party cookies are set when you visit the website and provide
information about how to block, disable or delete these third party cookies,
which would block or end your participation in all Relevance Managed Media and Retargeting products.
Advertising to Consumers Based on Anonymous Offline Demographic and
Lifestyle Characteristics (LifeStage Targeting) and Relationships You Have with
Advertisers (Customer Targeting)
When you visit websites who are registration partners of Acxiom for the
Acxiom Managed Media and Customer Targeting product and you provide personally
identifiable information, such as your name and address, to that website, this
information will be sent to Acxiom to include you in the Acxiom Managed Media Ad
Network.
If Acxiom has demographic and lifestyle information about you in our InfoBase
Enhancement product, we may provide this information to the registration site
and Acxiom will set anonymous third party Acxiom Managed Media Cookies on your
browser associated with this information. Acxiom may periodically refresh this
information from Acxiom’s InfoBase product to assure it remains current. If you
are a customer of one of Acxiom’s Managed Media advertising clients and provide
them your name and address, you may also receive anonymous Acxiom third party
Managed Media cookies associated with information about those relationships.
When you visit websites in Acxiom’s Managed Media Ad Network, you may be shown
ads or see customized content that Acxiom’s advertising clients believe may be
of interest to you based on the information associated with these third party
cookies. This is the only use of these cookies. No history of websites you
have visited is associated with these cookies. No personally identifiable
information is collected by or used with these cookies. These cookies are set
to automatically expire within 36 months. However, if you reregister at one of
the Acxiom Managed Media participating registration partners, the
expiration timeframe will restart.
Our contracts require that sites where you
register and provide personally identifiable information inform you that this
information will be shared with third parties such as Acxiom and that third
party anonymous cookies will be set and used for marketing purposes. These
websites should also provide you information about how to block, disable or
delete these third party cookies, blocking or ending your participation in
Acxiom Managed Media.
To learn more about Acxiom’s marketing products and this demographic and
lifestyle information, go to Acxiom’s U.S. Products Privacy Policy.
Advertising to Children
Acxiom does not intentionally collect data on, create targeting
segments of, or tailor target online advertising to children under 18 years of
age.
Delivering and Reporting on Online Banner Advertising
To deliver our
suite of Acxiom Managed Media and Retargeting online advertising products, we utilize the
technology of third party providers. We also utilize their technology platforms
to record information related to the serving of these advertisements. This
information includes such data as browser type, ad served, date, time, and site
where the ad was served. Acxiom may provide our advertising partners with
reports that aggregate information about the ads presented as part of their
online banner advertising campaign. The information provided in these reports is
in the aggregate and cannot be used to identify anyone personally.
Data Sharing
We may share non-personal information with companies such as advertisers,
agencies, ad networks, or exchanges to enable them to analyze user behaviors or
to assist us with tailoring the ads that you encounter. In other, limited
circumstances, we may share data by providing access to the non-personal
information we collect to service providers who are assisting us with storage,
analysis, or other services. These service providers are subject to
confidentiality restrictions, and are not authorized to utilize the information
in any way other than to provide their services to us. In special cases, we may
also be required to release information in order to comply with requests from
law enforcement, government agencies, and similar entities, or to otherwise
protect our clients and users.

Security
Acxiom maintains security procedures designed to keep information we own,
license and process from being accessed by any unauthorized person or business.
We use a variety of multi-level security systems to control access to our
services and information products. All users at client locations, as well as all
Acxiom associates, must have the appropriate access codes and be authorized to
access certain data and applications. Acxiom conducts risk assessments and
regular audits on our internal and external information systems to assess our
ability to maintain the integrity of client and Acxiom data. Our enterprise
security operations center maintains real-time monitoring for information system
vulnerabilities and unauthorized access attempts into our internal systems. We
also maintain physical security for our facilities and limit access to certain
critical areas of our business. We take reasonable precautions to ensure that
our security procedures are adequate for the protection of our computer systems
and data, but this does not eliminate the possibility that our security will be
breached. If a security breach causes Acxiom leadership to believe individual
consumers are at actual risk for identity theft or other fraudulent activities
that may cause substantial harm or inconvenience to consumers or if such breach
otherwise requires public notification, Acxiom will post a security alert notice
on our website (www.acxiom.com) that will provide relevant information for
consumers and Acxiom clients to consider to protect against fraudulent and other
harmful actions that may result from the unauthorized access.
Other Important Information
If we decide to change our online privacy policy in a material way, we will
post a notification highlighting those changes on this website so users can
become aware of the changes.
In the event Acxiom is purchased, data collected by Acxiom Managed Media and Retargeting will be one
of the transferred assets.
